I’m begging you if you’re building a business make it sellable.
Please, build it in a way you can sell it when you want to move to another business or when you’re not interested in it anymore.
Many young people start a business and after a year a two they shutdown and move to something else without any concern for their customers.
Even last week a friend asked me to start using his website hosting services for EasyLife Creative Studio. I told him that we currently manage hundreds of websites for our clients and we can’t risk our client’s websites. I promise him once he stays in the business for good three years we will start patronising his business.
I have never shutdown a business after launching, today I’m sharing the secret here.
I have a service-based tech business and a small team that keep it running, that small business has been bringing a steady income for years. The income is enough to pay our salaries and fund our other software businesses.
So even if we didn’t make a profit in our software companies we can stay in the business for a long with borrowing a single naira and running out of money
My advice is if want to start a tech business that is not service-based make sure you have a stable source of income. Most tech businesses don’t bring money quickly as the media portray it.
