Today around 2:30am arm robbers broke into my house.
We were asleep when they hit the gate, before I woke up to check what was going on they already overpowered us.
Immediately after they got access to our living room they started asking for money and phones, that’s how we realised that they are arm robbers, not kidnappers as my wife assumed.
I told them we don’t have much cash, but they can search the house and take everything they want, all I want is the safety of my family.
So the gang leader calmed as I started helping them to pack all the items they want, including laptops, tablets, phones and other gadgets.
I used that opportunity to start a conversation with the gang leader. He even asked me if one of my phones can be sold at 150k, and responded to him that he can sell it for more than that amount.
I started negotiations with him (without him knowing I’m negotiating with him).
He agreed to return some of our sim cards, I gave him the receipts and packages of three phones in exchange.
We became more friendly, so I made another request. I begged him to return only one laptop which I told him without that laptop my life is in big trouble, so he took me out I picked that one laptop out of 20+ laptops they collected in my house and my neighbour’s house.
I know it will take us long to recover from this, but Alhamdulillah, we’re alive and fine.

PS: All our business documents and resources are not affected as they are all stored in our ‘cloud office. All the hardware that was lost will be replaced before Monday Insha Allah.
I pray my wife and I can recover from this trauma so that we can resume fully and continue building our dream business on Monday.
